We've been loving the feedback you have been sending to us. While we had general ideas about what we wanted to see and do, and where we wanted to go, we got exactly what we asked for - suggestions and advice. As a result, we've modified our itinerary somewhat.
Gone are Greece and Turkey. The whole European segment of the trip, while we are looking forward to it, is something that is easier accessed from Canada. We have tried to lean more time towards the places that are harder to get to - Asia and Australia - as it may be less of an opportunity in the future to get back there.
So while we definitely want to visit Greece and Turkey, they're just a little bit off our flight path, and we'd be visiting at an odd time of year. We definitely don't want to get caught in the "It's Wednesday, it must be Germany" kind of trap.
44 days and counting
So I had this great idea to add a little counter on the right side of the page to show how many days until the trip is on. The coding is fairly simple: September 1st minus today's date. And then it showed forty-four days, and a few hairs on the back of my neck stood up.
My goodness, that's getting close.
Luckily Amy and I are pretty organized. We spent some time a month or two ago coming up with a list of tasks (things that needed to be done before we left) and we're done about a third of them, in progress with another half, leaving only... a fifth? To be done.
Of course, they're the biggest ones, like "move and store all worldly possessions." And "finalize itinerary". And "buy tickets". Seems to me those are the ones that probably will take the most work.
But, glass half-full: we still have forty-four days!
